Are you looking for a night out with friends? Is your inner DIY itching for a fun new project without having to buy all your own supplies and make a mess at your house? Then BOOK A WORKSHOP for the ultimate paint and sip experience at Board & Brush Creative Studio in Mount Horeb.
Mount Horeb is approximately 15 miles west of Madison, WI. It is such a cute, quaint little town. There are a ton of festivals throughout the year, including an art fair, which brings 20 thousand people to the village. You can visit Duluth Trading Company’s flagship retail store, as well as the many boutique shops on Main Street. There are several charming restaurants where you can get a bite to eat before or after a workshop. And, of course, there are the trolls…Mount Horeb is known as the Troll Capital of the World. You can take a tour through town and visit each one!
Board & Brush Mount Horeb is a licensed establishment.
Beer and malt beverages are available for purchase in the studio.

SIP & PAINT AT OUR WOOD SIGN WORKSHOPS
At Board & Brush in Mount Horeb, we marry the joy of wine and paint with the classic timelessness of wooden signs. Our instructor-led DIY wood sign workshops allow you to combine your creativity and willingness to learn new skills. We provide you with the instruction, materials and design for you to distress, sand, stain, paint, and customize your personalized piece of art!
HOW IT WORKS
1. REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP
View our calendar above to find a date and time that works best for you and your friends and family (the more, the merrier!). You can also look for a workshop that features the type of project you’d like to create, like a PYP or specialty project. Then, you’ll browse our gallery of hundreds of designs to choose which one you’d like to create in your upcoming workshop!
2. ARRIVE EARLY!
Our workshops start on time, so you’ll want to arrive early to get settled! You can start thinking about the endless creative possibilities ahead, take photos with friends, and enjoy your favorite beverage (some studios are BYOB, while others sell alcohol, please check with your local studio about their policies).
3. GET YOUR DIY ON!
At your paint and sip workshop, you’ll turn raw wood into a finished project fit for your home! You’ll be guided by our expert instructors throughout each step in the workshop - sanding, distressing, staining, painting your stencil, and waxing! You choose all your colors in person at the workshop! Our workshops are typically about 3 hours long.
4. DISPLAY YOUR NEW DÉCOR
When you leave our workshops, you’ll leave with a wood project that you’ll be proud to display in your home! We mean it when we say that no experience is necessary - our instructors are there to help turn you into a DIY expert. Now that your beautiful farmhouse-inspired project is complete, you’ll take it home to find the perfect spot to display it!

Meet Board & Brush Mount Horeb Owners
Julie & Curt Selby
Julie & Curt Selby are the founders and owners of the B&b franchise! What started as Julie’s idea for a Girl’s Night Out in March of 2015, turned into a rapidly growing franchise business worthy of pulling Curt away from a 25 year plus corporate HR career in late 2015. The high school sweethearts from Fort Wayne, Indiana are weekend warriors when it come to DIY projects, remodeling five homes and a lake cottage in addition to countless other DIY projects. They have three beautiful daughters and reside in Wisconsin. Their favorite part of Board & Brush is seeing everyone’s smiling faces at the end of a workshop!
Molly Schmock
Molly Schmock has spent most of her career working in print production after receiving her graphic design degree, but she has always loved to DIY whenever possible. After she went to a workshop with some friends and her mother-in-law, she inquired about what it would take to open a Board & Brush. Fast forward a few months, and she was contacted by B&b to manage the Middleton studio. A while later, when the opportunity eventually came for her to run the corporate Mount Horeb studio, she knew it was the perfect new adventure!
Molly lives in Mount Horeb with her husband, who is opening up Driftless Social across the street from the studio, and her two sons, Fletcher and Keaton. Molly also recently got her real estate license and is a practicing realtor in Mount Horeb with a company she opened with her lifelong best friend. She left her corporate job for some new careers that would work better for her family and her true passions. Board & Brush is the perfect match for her passion for helping others, being creative, and connecting with new people.
