Andrew & Whitney Mitchell

Whitney is a former teacher turned sonographer. She taught elementary ages in the public school districts of North Carolina and South Carolina for 5 years. Now, she performs vascular ultrasounds on patients of all ages at Coastal Vascular and Vein.  Andrew is a mechanical engineer at NIWC Atlantic, and is a very skilled handyman whose main hobby is many of their own building projects, home renovations and repairs. In terms of DIY they are always looking for their next fun project! Home DIY projects include pallet and canvas  painting, finding old wood scraps to create cool frames, staining and using old canvas coffee bags to re-do kitchen stools, taking old windows to make a unique coffee and side tables, and creating barn style doors. Larger projects include building a large detached workshop shed in our backyard from the ground up. They are excited about the opportunity to use these skills for a much bigger projects, and share those skills with others so they will feel like confident DIY-ers too!

Andrew and Whitney are an active newlywed couple. They have always been interested in opening and running a business together. They have been searching for an idea that is worth investing both their time and money. This type of creative workshop is something that piqued both of their interests with their backgrounds and skills. They like a challenge and also like to have fun together. They make a great team!

Andrew and Whitney met as students at their (now) alma mater, Clemson University, back in 2008. They began dating in the fall of 2013, after spending a weekend in Clemson enjoying a football game and reminiscing about their college days. Whitney moved to Charleston to be with Andrew in the summer of 2014. On June 3, 2017, they were married in downtown Charleston. They currently live in the West Ashley area of Charleston with their one-year old Goldendoodle puppy. They love being active, training for triathlons, getting outdoors, cheering on their Clemson Tigers, and being out on the Charleston waters on their boat
