Meet Board & Brush Fredericksburg Owners

Andy & Raquel Gladieux

After serving as a U.S. Navy family for over 25 years, Raquel and Andy decided to switch gears and do something totally different. They both loved serving their country in uniform but were yearning to explore more creative endeavors and do something artistic, hands on and fun – so they decided to open a B&b studio! Opening their first studio gave them not only family flexibility but also the opportunity to combine their love of DIY projects, working with raw building materials and interacting with customers and other DIY aficionados while growing the B&b family. They are both thrilled to be opening their second B&b studio and continuing to share the experience with their friends and family in Virginia, Maryland and DC. Andy and Raquel have been married for 20+ years and have two active teenaged kids, Connor and Carly and an adorable toy Golden Doodle dog named Penny. They have lived all over the country and have decided to grow some roots in historic Virginia. They enjoy being close to Washington, D.C. and the many cultural activities and history the area has to offer. They have travelled the world but feel nothing compares to the spirit, history, splendor and awe of our National Capital Region.

Vanessa Street

Vanessa is the studio manager for the Fredericksburg studio. She is a photographer and artist who grew up in Virginia.  Vanessa is married to a Marine and has two daughters twelve and fourteen years old.  They also have a black lab and three cats!  She understands how important family is and she is active in her community and church.  She is the president of the PTA, coaches volleyball and works with a few non-profit organizations in the area.

She previously was the Studio Manager and Event Coordinator at Wine & Design so when she came across Board & Brush she was thrilled to utilize her knowledge of managing a studio and helping others create an artistic DIY project for themselves.  Working with wood and spening an evening with family and friends makes for a perfect evening!  She loves that you are not only creating a DIY project, but you are creating memories and she is so excited to help you do it
