Are you looking for a night out with friends? Is your inner DIY itching for a fun new project without having to buy all your own supplies and make a mess at your house? Then BOOK A WORKSHOP for the ultimate paint and sip experience at Board & Brush Creative Studio in North Austin.
Known as the Live Music Capital of the World, Austin hosts music festivals including Austin City Limits and South by Southwest annually. This lively city is home to some of the world's best BBQ, 205 parks, fourteen nature preserves and more than fifty miles of hiking and biking trails. Other attractions include the State Capitol building, a brand-new state-of-the art city library, and the University of Texas, home of the Longhorns. Austin is also home to hundreds of thousands of Mexican free tailed bats. From March to October, each night, twenty minutes before sunset, the bats emerge from under the Congress Avenue Bridge and take to the evening sky. As the city grows, Austinites vow to maintain their city's offbeat, quirky vibe and "Keep Austin Weird."

SIP & PAINT AT OUR WOOD SIGN WORKSHOPS
At Board & Brush in North Austin, we marry the joy of wine and paint with the classic timelessness of wooden signs. Our instructor-led DIY wood sign workshops allow you to combine your creativity and willingness to learn new skills. We provide you with the instruction, materials and design for you to distress, sand, stain, paint, and customize your personalized piece of art!
HOW IT WORKS
1. REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP
View our calendar above to find a date and time that works best for you and your friends and family (the more, the merrier!). You can also look for a workshop that features the type of project you’d like to create, like a PYP or specialty project. Then, you’ll browse our gallery of hundreds of designs to choose which one you’d like to create in your upcoming workshop!
2. ARRIVE EARLY!
Our workshops start on time, so you’ll want to arrive early to get settled! You can start thinking about the endless creative possibilities ahead, take photos with friends, and enjoy your favorite beverage (some studios are BYOB, while others sell alcohol, please check with your local studio about their policies).
3. GET YOUR DIY ON!
At your paint and sip workshop, you’ll turn raw wood into a finished project fit for your home! You’ll be guided by our expert instructors throughout each step in the workshop - sanding, distressing, staining, painting your stencil, and waxing! You choose all your colors in person at the workshop! Our workshops are typically about 3 hours long.
4. DISPLAY YOUR NEW DÉCOR
When you leave our workshops, you’ll leave with a wood project that you’ll be proud to display in your home! We mean it when we say that no experience is necessary - our instructors are there to help turn you into a DIY expert. Now that your beautiful farmhouse-inspired project is complete, you’ll take it home to find the perfect spot to display it!

Meet Board & Brush North Austin Owners
Steffany & Tony Nguyen
Steffany and Tony Nguyen both grew up with a love of art: everything from fine arts, architecture, jewelry design, figure drawing, photography, and illustration. Both took art classes in college, but eventually pursued careers in technology and corporate sales and marketing. While there were some creative aspects to those careers, Board & Brush has allowed them to fulfill their desire for hands-on artistic expression and to begin their entrepreneurial journey! The dream of owning their own business in a creative field became a wonderful reality with Board & Brush.
Steffany and Tony met in high school and married several years later in the Chicagoland area. After a few years, and too many cold winters, they decided to move to Austin, Texas to pursue a new adventure and to start their family. Deciding to own Board & Brush North Austin was a no brainer that would allow them to help stay connected to the community they had enjoyed for many years. They are thrilled to help North Austin reach its creative and artistic potential!

Board & Brush North Austin is located at The Shops at Arbor Walk at N. Mopac Expressway & Braker Lane, just 2 miles east of The Arboretum and less than a half mile south of The Domain. The studio shares a parking lot with Marshalls, DSW, JoAnn Fabrics, Spec\'s, Chuck E. Cheese, Home Depot, PGA TOUR Superstore, and more. Nearby restaurants include BJ‘s Brewhouse, Mighty Fine Burgers, Chipotle, Lupe Tortilla and Mimi‘s Bistro and Bakery.
