Are you looking for a night out with friends? Is your inner DIY itching for a fun new project without having to buy all your own supplies and make a mess at your house? Then BOOK A WORKSHOP for the ultimate paint and sip experience at Board & Brush Creative Studio in Orcutt.
Orcutt, CA is located just south of Santa Maria and is one of the fastest growing towns in Santa Barbara County. It's a 45-minute drive up to San Luis Obispo, home to the renowned Cal Poly campus, and just an hour from Santa Barbara. You can easily fill your day - and your stomach - right in town! Orcutt is home to various antique stores, art galleries and boutique nurseries. Orcutt's "Old Western Town" (aka Old-Town) looks something like the set of a Western movie, the town's core is just the way locals like it! From "First Friday" events, cruise nights, to various holiday parades downtown, Old-Town provides a chance for citizens to get out and enjoy the community. For food, you can meet friends at the Homestead for a giant sandwich, stop by Blast 825 for some wood-fired pizza and locally brewed beer, or check out Pizza Bella Forno or Trattoria Uliveto for some delicious Italian food!
Board & Brush Orcutt is a licensed establishment.
Beer and wine are available for purchase in the studio.

SIP & PAINT AT OUR WOOD SIGN WORKSHOPS
At Board & Brush in Orcutt, we marry the joy of wine and paint with the classic timelessness of wooden signs. Our instructor-led DIY wood sign workshops allow you to combine your creativity and willingness to learn new skills. We provide you with the instruction, materials and design for you to distress, sand, stain, paint, and customize your personalized piece of art!
HOW IT WORKS
1. REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP
View our calendar above to find a date and time that works best for you and your friends and family (the more, the merrier!). You can also look for a workshop that features the type of project you’d like to create, like a PYP or specialty project. Then, you’ll browse our gallery of hundreds of designs to choose which one you’d like to create in your upcoming workshop!
2. ARRIVE EARLY!
Our workshops start on time, so you’ll want to arrive early to get settled! You can start thinking about the endless creative possibilities ahead, take photos with friends, and enjoy your favorite beverage (some studios are BYOB, while others sell alcohol, please check with your local studio about their policies).
3. GET YOUR DIY ON!
At your paint and sip workshop, you’ll turn raw wood into a finished project fit for your home! You’ll be guided by our expert instructors throughout each step in the workshop - sanding, distressing, staining, painting your stencil, and waxing! You choose all your colors in person at the workshop! Our workshops are typically about 3 hours long.
4. DISPLAY YOUR NEW DÉCOR
When you leave our workshops, you’ll leave with a wood project that you’ll be proud to display in your home! We mean it when we say that no experience is necessary - our instructors are there to help turn you into a DIY expert. Now that your beautiful farmhouse-inspired project is complete, you’ll take it home to find the perfect spot to display it!

Meet Board & Brush Orcutt Owners
Tina & Todd Schoffstoll
Tina and Todd Schoffstoll moved to Orcutt in August of 2019 and quickly looked for a way to become a part of their new community and meet new people. They soon realized, what better way to do so than opening a Board & Brush studio right in Orcutt? Tina is a people person, and her degree in organizational leadership helps ensure that she provides a studio experience with both a personal and professional touch. Todd is excited for their new adventure too…and he knows wood! Todd has an undergraduate degree in forest resources, an MBA, and currently works in the lumber products industry.
The Schoffstolls expect their studio to truly be a family affair! Their daughter is helping with social media, their oldest son will work in the studio, and their youngest will help behind the scenes by taking care of chores for the family at home! Tina and Todd are thrilled to be able to open their studio in Old Town Orcutt and are excited about becoming involved and meeting new people in their new community.

Board & Brush Orcutt is located on the north side of Clark Ave in Old Town Orcutt between Elmer‘s Bar and Pizza Bella Forno; just look for the red façade with the red awning.
