Are you looking for a night out with friends? Is your inner DIY itching for a fun new project without having to buy all your own supplies and make a mess at your house? Then BOOK A WORKSHOP for the ultimate paint and sip experience at Board & Brush Creative Studio in Skaneateles.
Skaneateles is a quaint and picturesque village in the heart of the Finger Lakes region. It is 30 minutes from Syracuse. The main street of Skaneateles sits on the lake and is filled with unique shops, world class restaurants, and galleries. The village has maintained its charm with historic homes that will take your breath away, numerous inns, festivals held throughout the year including a “Dickens Christmas”; where characters dress up and sing classic carols on main street. It is also close to many vineyards that are located in the Finger Lakes region. Skaneateles is truly a gem found in Central New York and one we are lucky enough to call home.
Board & Brush Skaneateles is a licensed establishment.
Beer and wine are available for purchase in the studio.

SIP & PAINT AT OUR WOOD SIGN WORKSHOPS
At Board & Brush in Skaneateles, we marry the joy of wine and paint with the classic timelessness of wooden signs. Our instructor-led DIY wood sign workshops allow you to combine your creativity and willingness to learn new skills. We provide you with the instruction, materials and design for you to distress, sand, stain, paint, and customize your personalized piece of art!
HOW IT WORKS
1. REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP
View our calendar above to find a date and time that works best for you and your friends and family (the more, the merrier!). You can also look for a workshop that features the type of project you’d like to create, like a PYP or specialty project. Then, you’ll browse our gallery of hundreds of designs to choose which one you’d like to create in your upcoming workshop!
2. ARRIVE EARLY!
Our workshops start on time, so you’ll want to arrive early to get settled! You can start thinking about the endless creative possibilities ahead, take photos with friends, and enjoy your favorite beverage (some studios are BYOB, while others sell alcohol, please check with your local studio about their policies).
3. GET YOUR DIY ON!
At your paint and sip workshop, you’ll turn raw wood into a finished project fit for your home! You’ll be guided by our expert instructors throughout each step in the workshop - sanding, distressing, staining, painting your stencil, and waxing! You choose all your colors in person at the workshop! Our workshops are typically about 3 hours long.
4. DISPLAY YOUR NEW DÉCOR
When you leave our workshops, you’ll leave with a wood project that you’ll be proud to display in your home! We mean it when we say that no experience is necessary - our instructors are there to help turn you into a DIY expert. Now that your beautiful farmhouse-inspired project is complete, you’ll take it home to find the perfect spot to display it!

Meet Board & Brush Skaneateles Owners
Laura & Marc Kowal
Marc and Laura have always loved DIY-ing and have spent many hours enhancing the look of their home, inside and out. They met in Colorado where they lived for ten years. When the opportunity to move back east to be around family presented itself they jumped at the chance to live in the beautiful and quaint little village of Skaneateles NY. They have been married for 10 years and have two very busy little boys. Owen is 8 years old and Tucker is 6. Their family would not be as fun without their silly but lovable golden retriever Moxie and their sweet kitty Maisy. They love spending time as a family and going on adventures. Their lives are filled with lots of laughter, never dull, and we love it that way! From the moment Laura walked into a Board & Brush Studio she felt a connection and knew that was the place her soul belonged. The opportunity to open a studio had wrapped everything they loved to do into a perfect beautiful bow and they could not be happier!

Board & Brush Skaneateles is located on Fennell Street across the street from the Skaneateles Post Office and the offices for Verizon, a short walk to restaurants, boutique shops and galleries in this picturesque village.
