Sunrise is a thriving Miami-Fort Lauderdale suburb and is located just 10 minutes from downtown Fort Lauderdale in Broward County. Sunrise is home to the BB&T Center. Just as its name suggests, Sunrise gets plenty of sunshine all year long boasting an average temperature of 84 degrees. In addition to hosting great sporting events like the Florida Panther NHL team, the BB&T Center is known for great concerts! Some of the best golf courses are just a few minutes from the studio in Weston, Florida. The Sawgrass Mall is a great place to shop and its upscale stores attract shoppers from all over the world. Markham Park and Weston Regional Park are located in the area as well, the parks house all of the great outdoor activities that Florida is known for. The Florida Everglades National Park is located on West Side of Sunrise and the beauty of the National Park is a great attraction for all to see.

SIP & PAINT AT OUR WOOD SIGN WORKSHOPS
At Board & Brush in Sunrise, we marry the joy of wine and paint with the classic timelessness of wooden signs. Our instructor-led DIY wood sign workshops allow you to combine your creativity and willingness to learn new skills. We provide you with the instruction, materials and design for you to distress, sand, stain, paint, and customize your personalized piece of art!
HOW IT WORKS
1. REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP
View our calendar above to find a date and time that works best for you and your friends and family (the more, the merrier!). You can also look for a workshop that features the type of project you’d like to create, like a PYP or specialty project. Then, you’ll browse our gallery of hundreds of designs to choose which one you’d like to create in your upcoming workshop!
2. ARRIVE EARLY!
Our workshops start on time, so you’ll want to arrive early to get settled! You can start thinking about the endless creative possibilities ahead, take photos with friends, and enjoy your favorite beverage (some studios are BYOB, while others sell alcohol, please check with your local studio about their policies).
3. GET YOUR DIY ON!
At your paint and sip workshop, you’ll turn raw wood into a finished project fit for your home! You’ll be guided by our expert instructors throughout each step in the workshop - sanding, distressing, staining, painting your stencil, and waxing! You choose all your colors in person at the workshop! Our workshops are typically about 3 hours long.
4. DISPLAY YOUR NEW DÉCOR
When you leave our workshops, you’ll leave with a wood project that you’ll be proud to display in your home! We mean it when we say that no experience is necessary - our instructors are there to help turn you into a DIY expert. Now that your beautiful farmhouse-inspired project is complete, you’ll take it home to find the perfect spot to display it!

Meet Board & Brush Sunrise Owners
Colleen & Paul Laurent
Colleen and Paul love being creative. They are eager to share their passion with guests at Board & Brush Sunrise. They decided to open a Board & Brush because they wanted to give everyone a happy place to go. At B&B they can get away from daily life, celebrate with friends and loved ones, or just experience something new while creating a personalized piece for their homes.
Colleen is a native Floridian and Paul was born in Costa Rica but raised in South Florida. Prior to Board & Brush, Colleen was a web designer and has been a very active school volunteer. She has served on both the Falcon Cove Middle School PTA and Cypress Bay High PTSA, as well as Broward School District committees. Colleen first fell in love with Board & Brush the moment she walked in and she began working at the Sunrise studio a few months later for a creative outlet.
When the opportunity to purchase the studio came up, her excitement convinced Paul now was the right time to own their own business! Paul maintains a corporate career and is a car and woodworking aficionado. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, taking long drives and spoiling his French Bulldog, Stitch.
Colleen and Paul have been married 21 years and have four wonderful children.
