Topeka is the capital of Kansas. It is located about 26 miles from Lawrence, KS (home of the Jayhawks) and 60 miles from Manhattan (home of the Wildcats) and Kansas City. Topeka has 4 great breweries: Blind Tiger Brewery, Happy Basset Brewing Company, Norseman Brewing Company and Iron Rail Brewing. There are delicious restaurants in downtown Topeka, including Julie’s Bistro, The Pennant, Rowhouse Restaurant, The White Linen, HHB BBQ, Field of Greens and The Wheel Barrel! History and arts are abundant as Topeka is home to the Evel Knievel Museum, the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center, the Mulvane Art Museum and the Topeka Civic Theater! Lake Shawnee, the Kansas River and the miles of wooded trails are perfect for outdoor enthusiasts! Whether you want to cheer on the Icabods at Washburn University, or be part of the sports action, Topeka has sporting events and facilities available year-round.

SIP & PAINT AT OUR WOOD SIGN WORKSHOPS
At Board & Brush in Topeka, we marry the joy of wine and paint with the classic timelessness of wooden signs. Our instructor-led DIY wood sign workshops allow you to combine your creativity and willingness to learn new skills. We provide you with the instruction, materials and design for you to distress, sand, stain, paint, and customize your personalized piece of art!
HOW IT WORKS
1. REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP
View our calendar above to find a date and time that works best for you and your friends and family (the more, the merrier!). You can also look for a workshop that features the type of project you’d like to create, like a PYP or specialty project. Then, you’ll browse our gallery of hundreds of designs to choose which one you’d like to create in your upcoming workshop!
2. ARRIVE EARLY!
Our workshops start on time, so you’ll want to arrive early to get settled! You can start thinking about the endless creative possibilities ahead, take photos with friends, and enjoy your favorite beverage (some studios are BYOB, while others sell alcohol, please check with your local studio about their policies).
3. GET YOUR DIY ON!
At your wood sign workshop, you’ll turn raw wood into a finished project fit for your home! You’ll be guided by our expert instructors throughout each step in the workshop - sanding, distressing, staining, painting your stencil, and waxing! You choose all your colors in person at the workshop! Our workshops are typically about 3 hours long.
4. DISPLAY YOUR NEW DÉCOR
When you leave our workshops, you’ll leave with a wood project that you’ll be proud to display in your home! We mean it when we say that no experience is necessary - our instructors are there to help turn you into a DIY expert. Now that your beautiful farmhouse-inspired project is complete, you’ll take it home to find the perfect spot to display it!

Meet Board & Brush Topeka Owner
Jamie Clark
Jamie Clark has done woodworking for most of her life, beginning when she and her father built projects together. When she met her husband, Curtis, he also loved doing projects…which Jamie was more than happy to help with!
Jamie has been running a very successful childcare program out of her home for many years, which she has truly loves. However, she realized that she was missing some adult interaction. When Board & Brush Topeka opened and was looking for part-time employees, she knew that this was just what she needed. She absolutely fell in love with the company and the customers! When the opportunity arrived to become the owner of Board & Brush Topeka, she couldn’t imagine turning it down!
Jamie and Curtis have 3 grown children and one amazing grandchild, plus a house full of dogs and a cat! Curtis works a full-time job as well as farms with his brother almost full-time on the side. During their down time they can be found taking motorcycle rides or re-watching episodes of NCIS for the thousandth time

Board & Brush Topeka is located at 37th & Burlingame in the Burlingame Shopping Center. We are right next to Moxy Hair Studio, Mommy & Me and The Mexican Taco Shop! You can get to us easily right off 470 and there is plenty of parking!
