DIY Wood Sign & Wood Project Workshop!
Are you looking for a night out with friends? Is your inner DIY itching for a fun new project without having to buy all your own supplies and make a mess at your house? Then BOOK A WORKSHOP for the ultimate paint and sip experience at Board & Brush Creative Studio in Avondale.
Avondale is a modern city, near the heart of the Phoenix metropolitan area in the West Valley. It started out as a farming community with many acres of alfalfa and cotton fields and has developed into a prominent commercial corridor. It also has many recreational attractions as well. Avondale is located on the edge of the Sororan Desert and we are located about a three-hour drive from the Grand Canyon’s South Rim.
Board & Brush Avondale is a BYOB establishment only after 4 P.M. per Arizona law.
Guests may bring and consume up to 750ml wine, 40oz Beer or 4oz of spirits.

SIP & PAINT AT OUR WOOD SIGN WORKSHOPS
At Board & Brush in Avondale, we marry the joy of wine and paint with the classic timelessness of wooden signs. Our instructor-led DIY wood sign workshops allow you to combine your creativity and willingness to learn new skills. We provide you with the instruction, materials and design for you to distress, sand, stain, paint, and customize your personalized piece of art!
HOW IT WORKS
1. REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP
View our calendar above to find a date and time that works best for you and your friends and family (the more, the merrier!). You can also look for a workshop that features the type of project you’d like to create, like a PYP or specialty project. Then, you’ll browse our gallery of hundreds of designs to choose which one you’d like to create in your upcoming workshop!
2. ARRIVE EARLY!
Our workshops start on time, so you’ll want to arrive early to get settled! You can start thinking about the endless creative possibilities ahead, take photos with friends, and enjoy your favorite beverage (some studios are BYOB, while others sell alcohol, please check with your local studio about their policies).
3. GET YOUR DIY ON!
At your paint and sip workshop, you’ll turn raw wood into a finished project fit for your home! You’ll be guided by our expert instructors throughout each step in the workshop - sanding, distressing, staining, painting your stencil, and waxing! You choose all your colors in person at the workshop! Our workshops are typically about 3 hours long.
4. DISPLAY YOUR NEW DÉCOR
When you leave our workshops, you’ll leave with a wood project that you’ll be proud to display in your home! We mean it when we say that no experience is necessary - our instructors are there to help turn you into a DIY expert. Now that your beautiful farmhouse-inspired project is complete, you’ll take it home to find the perfect spot to display it!

Meet Board & Brush Avondale Owners
Brooke Morris & Brett Panepento
Brett Panepento and Brooke Morris are siblings who grew up in a small farming town in Western New York. They spent a lot of time outdoors exploring and making things from the stuff they could find in the barn.
Since studying architecture at Norte Dame, Brett has worked in design, home renovations, and home building. He often has several projects going on around the house (or is helping friends with their homes) and loves to make his own version of things. He’s always thinking, “there’s got to be a better way to make that myself!”.
Brooke has lived in the west valley since graduating nursing school over 20 years ago. She transitioned from bedside Labor and Delivery nursing to leadership while also obtaining her MBA/MSN from Grand Canyon University. She and her husband, Trent, are raising their two children with a strong focus on family.
Brett and Brooke are so excited to be a part of the B&b Avondale family and are excited to help all of you express your inner creativity and to put your spin on décor you’ll love to have in your home!

Board & Brush Avondale is located off Dysart on W Rancho Santa Fe Blvd across the street from Walmart. We are North of the I-10 on the Dysart exit.
