Clive is a suburb of Des Moines and there are many fun things to do in the surrounding area! There are great restaurants, an upscale mall, a wonderful farmers market during the summer, a nice zoo and many boutiques that cater to our artistic customers.
Board & Brush Clive is a licensed establishment.
Beer and wine are available for purchase in the studio.

SIP & PAINT AT OUR WOOD SIGN WORKSHOPS
At Board & Brush in Clive, we marry the joy of wine and paint with the classic timelessness of wooden signs. Our instructor-led DIY wood sign workshops allow you to combine your creativity and willingness to learn new skills. We provide you with the instruction, materials and design for you to distress, sand, stain, paint, and customize your personalized piece of art!
HOW IT WORKS
1. REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP
View our calendar above to find a date and time that works best for you and your friends and family (the more, the merrier!). You can also look for a workshop that features the type of project you’d like to create, like a PYP or specialty project. Then, you’ll browse our gallery of hundreds of designs to choose which one you’d like to create in your upcoming workshop!
2. ARRIVE EARLY!
Our workshops start on time, so you’ll want to arrive early to get settled! You can start thinking about the endless creative possibilities ahead, take photos with friends, and enjoy your favorite beverage (some studios are BYOB, while others sell alcohol, please check with your local studio about their policies).
3. GET YOUR DIY ON!
At your paint and sip workshop, you’ll turn raw wood into a finished project fit for your home! You’ll be guided by our expert instructors throughout each step in the workshop - sanding, distressing, staining, painting your stencil, and waxing! You choose all your colors in person at the workshop! Our workshops are typically about 3 hours long.
4. DISPLAY YOUR NEW DÉCOR
When you leave our workshops, you’ll leave with a wood project that you’ll be proud to display in your home! We mean it when we say that no experience is necessary - our instructors are there to help turn you into a DIY expert. Now that your beautiful farmhouse-inspired project is complete, you’ll take it home to find the perfect spot to display it!

Meet Board & Brush Clive Owners
Ron & Sarah Schultz
Ron and Sarah both love creating, building, and crafting. In addition to being full time Air Force, Ron has been involved in woodworking for years with a continuous expansion of his personal wood shop, creating countless projects and furniture pieces, as well as many home rehab projects. Sarah has a passion for creating and crafting and enjoys involving their 2 kiddos. Sarah has worked in the medical field for the past nearly 15 years and is very excited to pursue a new adventure with Board & Brush.
Ron and Sarah have two youngsters, Jaxson and Logan, who both have a love for creating and building as well. When they are not participating in dance or coding, they can usually be found in the wood shop with Ron or crafting and painting with Sarah.
When the opportunity to own Board & Brush Clive, IA presented itself, Ron and Sarah jumped at it! They love that B&b fosters the ability to create a beautiful art piece people can be proud to display at their home, regardless of creative abilities or experience, all while having a great time!
Katie Krapfl
Katie is the studio manager for the Clive studio. She had previously worked at Board & Brush Dubuque for two years as an assistant before heading off to The University of Iowa to pursue her education in Video Production and Arts Entrepreneurship. When she's not in the studio, Katie is always up for yoga, board games, fishing, camping, and quality time with her boyfriend and family! Katie hopes to see you in the studio soon!
