Galena is known for its delicious restaurants, small-town shops, and activities on the beautifully maintained Main Street. You’ll also find the Chestnut Mountain Resort, offering skiing during the winter and zip lining, and alpine slide and bike paths during the summer. Whether you are looking for a great steakhouse (The Log Cabin Steakhouse), authentic Italian dishes (Vinny Vannuchi's), Sports Bar environment (Gobbie's Sports Pub and Eatery ), Pizza (Cannova's Pizzeria), Mexican (Campeche Restaurant), or even breakfast (Otto's Place is a MUST!), the possibilities are endless! If you are looking for a fun and funky shop, you need to stop at Poopsie's. Scent Workshop allows customers to sign up for workshops to custom make their own candles/perfumes etc., and customers can relax with some goat yoga at Galena Goat Yoga before you leave town!

SIP & PAINT AT OUR WOOD SIGN WORKSHOPS
At Board & Brush in Galena, we marry the joy of wine and paint with the classic timelessness of wooden signs. Our instructor-led DIY wood sign workshops allow you to combine your creativity and willingness to learn new skills. We provide you with the instruction, materials and design for you to distress, sand, stain, paint, and customize your personalized piece of art!
HOW IT WORKS
1. REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP
View our calendar above to find a date and time that works best for you and your friends and family (the more, the merrier!). You can also look for a workshop that features the type of project you’d like to create, like a PYP or specialty project. Then, you’ll browse our gallery of hundreds of designs to choose which one you’d like to create in your upcoming workshop!
2. ARRIVE EARLY!
Our workshops start on time, so you’ll want to arrive early to get settled! You can start thinking about the endless creative possibilities ahead, take photos with friends, and enjoy your favorite beverage (some studios are BYOB, while others sell alcohol, please check with your local studio about their policies).
3. GET YOUR DIY ON!
At your paint and sip workshop, you’ll turn raw wood into a finished project fit for your home! You’ll be guided by our expert instructors throughout each step in the workshop - sanding, distressing, staining, painting your stencil, and waxing! You choose all your colors in person at the workshop! Our workshops are typically about 3 hours long.
4. DISPLAY YOUR NEW DÉCOR
When you leave our workshops, you’ll leave with a wood project that you’ll be proud to display in your home! We mean it when we say that no experience is necessary - our instructors are there to help turn you into a DIY expert. Now that your beautiful farmhouse-inspired project is complete, you’ll take it home to find the perfect spot to display it!

Meet Board & Brush Galena Owners
Jennifer & Curran Lane
Jen and Curran have been in the corporate world for the last 10+ years and were ready to make a change. When the opportunity arose to open a Board & Brush studio in their town, they couldn't pass it up! They are excited to help their small community thrive and to provide a fun and artistic activity in Galena. Curran and Jen quickly became excited about running a business where they could work together and both bring their passion. Curran loves working with wood, creating, and building things (mostly for Jen!). Jen loves the fun and creative atmosphere that the workshops offer. She's very excited for the interactions with all the studio guests that walk through the doors of the B&b Galena. Curran and Jen also have 3 young boys and are thrilled to start this adventure as a family!

Board & Brush Galena is located on the North End of Main Street, the next building up from Little Tokyo restaurant. There is ample parking in the City Hall parking lot, available after City Hall’s business hours.
