Hanford, CA is an important commercial and cultural center in the south-central San Joaquin Valley. Once known for its popular China Alley and ties to the Central Pacific railroad in the late 1800s, the rural city is now known for its agricultural footprint surrounded by crop fields and dairy after dairy. It is nestled in the heart of the Central Valley located between NAS Lemoore and Visalia just off Interstate 99 and 198. Enjoy a glass of wine at Lush Fine Wines, dinner downtown at Zaytoona Mediterranean or delicious ice cream from Superior Dairy before visiting our workshop. There are several eateries and shops located just around the corner from our studio!?

SIP & PAINT AT OUR WOOD SIGN WORKSHOPS
At Board & Brush in Hanford, we marry the joy of wine and paint with the classic timelessness of wooden signs. Our instructor-led DIY wood sign workshops allow you to combine your creativity and willingness to learn new skills. We provide you with the instruction, materials and design for you to distress, sand, stain, paint, and customize your personalized piece of art!
HOW IT WORKS
1. REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP
View our calendar above to find a date and time that works best for you and your friends and family (the more, the merrier!). You can also look for a workshop that features the type of project you’d like to create, like a PYP or specialty project. Then, you’ll browse our gallery of hundreds of designs to choose which one you’d like to create in your upcoming workshop!
2. ARRIVE EARLY!
Our workshops start on time, so you’ll want to arrive early to get settled! You can start thinking about the endless creative possibilities ahead, take photos with friends, and enjoy your favorite beverage (some studios are BYOB, while others sell alcohol, please check with your local studio about their policies).
3. GET YOUR DIY ON!
At your paint and sip workshop, you’ll turn raw wood into a finished project fit for your home! You’ll be guided by our expert instructors throughout each step in the workshop - sanding, distressing, staining, painting your stencil, and waxing! You choose all your colors in person at the workshop! Our workshops are typically about 3 hours long.
4. DISPLAY YOUR NEW DÉCOR
When you leave our workshops, you’ll leave with a wood project that you’ll be proud to display in your home! We mean it when we say that no experience is necessary - our instructors are there to help turn you into a DIY expert. Now that your beautiful farmhouse-inspired project is complete, you’ll take it home to find the perfect spot to display it!

Meet Board & Brush Hanford Owners
Adam & Cortnie Higareda
Adam and Cortnie are high school sweethearts who married in 2006 and have been building a life full of family, creativity, and adventure ever since. Adam is retired military, having served in both the Marine Corps and the Air Force National Guard, and now works as a teacher. Cortnie also teaches and has a deep love for crafting - she's spent years creating custom DIY projects for their home and for friends, turning simple ideas into meaningful, personalized pieces. Board & Brush feels like the perfect extension of her creativity. Adam & Cortnie decided to open a Board & Brush studio because it combines everything they enjoy - working with people, creating something special, and offering their community a fun, welcoming place. Their teaching backgrounds make them natural guides, and they're excited to help others discover the joy of hands-on creativity.
Adam and Cortnie live in Visalia with their two daughters, Camryn and Alyssa, who bring plenty of energy and laughter to their home. As a family, they're thrilled to start this new chapter together.
