Roanoke Valley, VA is located in the heart of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia. Dubbed the "Star City of the South," Roanoke is known for the Roanoke Star, also known as the Mill Mountain Star, which is a neon landmark overlooking the city from the summit of Mill Mountain. Known for its hospitality, the surrounding Roanoke Valley is home to many great communities such as Vinton, Salem, Botetourt, Blue Ridge, Fincastle, and more. Regardless of which areas of the Roanoke Valley you visit, it is a beautiful place with scenic landscapes and kind neighbors!

SIP & PAINT AT OUR WOOD SIGN WORKSHOPS
At Board & Brush in Roanoke Valley, we marry the joy of wine and paint with the classic timelessness of wooden signs. Our instructor-led DIY wood sign workshops allow you to combine your creativity and willingness to learn new skills. We provide you with the instruction, materials and design for you to distress, sand, stain, paint, and customize your personalized piece of art!
HOW IT WORKS
1. REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP
View our calendar above to find a date and time that works best for you and your friends and family (the more, the merrier!). You can also look for a workshop that features the type of project you’d like to create, like a PYP or specialty project. Then, you’ll browse our gallery of hundreds of designs to choose which one you’d like to create in your upcoming workshop!
2. ARRIVE EARLY!
Our workshops start on time, so you’ll want to arrive early to get settled! You can start thinking about the endless creative possibilities ahead, take photos with friends, and enjoy your favorite beverage (some studios are BYOB, while others sell alcohol, please check with your local studio about their policies).
3. GET YOUR DIY ON!
At your paint and sip workshop, you’ll turn raw wood into a finished project fit for your home! You’ll be guided by our expert instructors throughout each step in the workshop - sanding, distressing, staining, painting your stencil, and waxing! You choose all your colors in person at the workshop! Our workshops are typically about 3 hours long.
4. DISPLAY YOUR NEW DÉCOR
When you leave our workshops, you’ll leave with a wood project that you’ll be proud to display in your home! We mean it when we say that no experience is necessary - our instructors are there to help turn you into a DIY expert. Now that your beautiful farmhouse-inspired project is complete, you’ll take it home to find the perfect spot to display it!

Meet Board & Brush Roanoke Valley Owner
Tina Perdue
Tina has always had a love for all things creative. One of her favorite things is seeing the look of surprise and pride someone gets when they LOVE something that they made themselves. Tina has worked in the insurance industry for over thirty years, with much of her career dedicated to training others. She brings her own creative spin to whatever she does, whether it’s DIY-ing things for her home, hosting paint classes for her friends, or having craft nights with friends and family. Tina has completed quite a few DIY projects, from fun crafts to redoing her home with the help of her husband, Bryan. Being born and raised in the Roanoke Valley, Tina hopes to share her creative energy with her community, meet new people, and bring the valley something new and fun to do.
Tina and Bryan have a son, Noah, who is an electrician and is married to their daughter-in-law Lauren, and a son, Colton, who works for the Western VA Water Authority. Their home wouldn’t be complete without their two dogs, Oliver, the 75-lb golden doodle, and Sherman, the 8-lb "teddy bear" dog, who is at times Oliver's chew toy, but actually runs the household. They love to go cruising and camping, visit new places, and spend lots of time with family
