Saginaw is at the heart of the Great Lakes Bay Region, with easy access from all the surrounding areas including Bay City, Midland and Mount Pleasant and all the charming small towns in between. Our area is home to many large colleges and universities with beautiful campuses offering many different activities and events. Saginaw is home to a beautiful new indoor urban Marketplace located in the historic district. Whether it’s the Midland’s Dow Diamond home of Loons Baseball team, the beautiful waterfront area in Bay City or the entertainment of Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant – the Great Lakes Bay Region is full of many wonderful reasons to visit and stay awhile!

SIP & PAINT AT OUR WOOD SIGN WORKSHOPS
At Board & Brush in Saginaw, we marry the joy of wine and paint with the classic timelessness of wooden signs. Our instructor-led DIY wood sign workshops allow you to combine your creativity and willingness to learn new skills. We provide you with the instruction, materials and design for you to distress, sand, stain, paint, and customize your personalized piece of art!
HOW IT WORKS
1. REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP
View our calendar above to find a date and time that works best for you and your friends and family (the more, the merrier!). You can also look for a workshop that features the type of project you’d like to create, like a PYP or specialty project. Then, you’ll browse our gallery of hundreds of designs to choose which one you’d like to create in your upcoming workshop!
2. ARRIVE EARLY!
Our workshops start on time, so you’ll want to arrive early to get settled! You can start thinking about the endless creative possibilities ahead, take photos with friends, and enjoy your favorite beverage (some studios are BYOB, while others sell alcohol, please check with your local studio about their policies).
3. GET YOUR DIY ON!
At your paint and sip workshop, you’ll turn raw wood into a finished project fit for your home! You’ll be guided by our expert instructors throughout each step in the workshop - sanding, distressing, staining, painting your stencil, and waxing! You choose all your colors in person at the workshop! Our workshops are typically about 3 hours long.
4. DISPLAY YOUR NEW DÉCOR
When you leave our workshops, you’ll leave with a wood project that you’ll be proud to display in your home! We mean it when we say that no experience is necessary - our instructors are there to help turn you into a DIY expert. Now that your beautiful farmhouse-inspired project is complete, you’ll take it home to find the perfect spot to display it!

Meet Board & Brush Saginaw Owners
Kelly & David Eddy
David and Kelly were high school sweethearts marrying after David re-enlisted in the Marine Corps for a second term. He helped support Kelly finish college in North Carolina, where he was stationed. Kelly graduated with a degree in Occupational Therapy and began her career in Greenville, NC. After their time in the Marines, they moved back to Michigan with dreams of one day opening a dog kennel & grooming business since they both love dogs. However, life took over, and they did not have the knowledge or finances to make that happen. Kelly has always been crafty and has tried her hand at many creative ventures, in fact it has become a little joke between them. For the 23 years they have been married, she has been saying she would find a way to make money with her projects and crafts. Most recently she has been hand painting and selling religious and inspirational artwork at a shop in the tourist town of Frankenmuth, MI. After discovering Board & Brush through a friend, it was very clear that this was the natural next step for her. She fell in love with the brand, business model and style of the franchise and has said even if she had designed it herself – it couldn’t be a more perfect fit.
David, Kelly and their kids are very involved in their church. They have 2 daughters, Aislinn is 19 and in her second year at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. She is studying to be a music teacher and staff minister in the Lutheran church. Amelia is a junior in high school, sings in the Concert Choir and loves spending time with her friends, her Mini Aussie and now at the studio. Preparing and setting up the studio has truly been a family project and they have already spent many hours together in their new happy place. Board & Brush is turning out to be the perfect fit for their entrepreneurial ideas. The franchise has offered them the knowledge and training to make their dream happen. They are so excited to bring Board & Brush to the Great Lakes Bay Region.

Board & Brush Saginaw is located in Block’s Plaza at the busy corner of Center and Gratiot roads near the famous Tony’s Original Restaurant, Beef O’Bradys, Italia Cucina Familiare, B&C pizza and Hungry Howie’s. We have plenty of parking on all sides of our building, accessible from both N. Center and Gratiot.
