Are you looking for a night out with friends? Is your inner DIY itching for a fun new project without having to buy all your own supplies and make a mess at your house? Then BOOK A WORKSHOP for the ultimate paint and sip experience at Board & Brush Creative Studio in State College.
State College, PA is a beautiful community located in central Pennsylvania. It's home to Penn State University, which provides the area with many opportunities. Visitors come to town for sporting events, especially for PSU football Saturdays at Beaver Stadium and hockey games at Pegula Ice Arena. No visit is complete without a stop to the Penn State Berkey Creamery for some ice cream! Families come to visit their students and alumni can always be found around town. State College is also home to the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, which is held every summer. Artisans come from all over the country to sell their unique goods. At the same time of year, Pennsylvania artisans showcase their handmade items at the People's Choice Festival in Boalsburg. We're lucky to have an active and artistic community that supports local businesses. The area is referred to as Happy Valley, and these are just some of the reasons why!
The State College Studio is officially Penn State licensed, available for an additional cost.

SIP & PAINT AT OUR WOOD SIGN WORKSHOPS
At Board & Brush in State College, we marry the joy of wine and paint with the classic timelessness of wooden signs. Our instructor-led DIY wood sign workshops allow you to combine your creativity and willingness to learn new skills. We provide you with the instruction, materials and design for you to distress, sand, stain, paint, and customize your personalized piece of art!
HOW IT WORKS
1. REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP
View our calendar above to find a date and time that works best for you and your friends and family (the more, the merrier!). You can also look for a workshop that features the type of project you’d like to create, like a PYP or specialty project. Then, you’ll browse our gallery of hundreds of designs to choose which one you’d like to create in your upcoming workshop!
2. ARRIVE EARLY!
Our workshops start on time, so you’ll want to arrive early to get settled! You can start thinking about the endless creative possibilities ahead, take photos with friends, and enjoy your favorite beverage (some studios are BYOB, while others sell alcohol, please check with your local studio about their policies).
3. GET YOUR DIY ON!
At your paint and sip workshop, you’ll turn raw wood into a finished project fit for your home! You’ll be guided by our expert instructors throughout each step in the workshop - sanding, distressing, staining, painting your stencil, and waxing! You choose all your colors in person at the workshop! Our workshops are typically about 3 hours long.
4. DISPLAY YOUR NEW DÉCOR
When you leave our workshops, you’ll leave with a wood project that you’ll be proud to display in your home! We mean it when we say that no experience is necessary - our instructors are there to help turn you into a DIY expert. Now that your beautiful farmhouse-inspired project is complete, you’ll take it home to find the perfect spot to display it!

Meet Board & Brush State College Owners
Lyndsay Nybeck & Jena Hosband
Jena and Lyndsay grew up locally and have been friends since childhood. They've gone through every stage of life together and are so excited to start this next chapter as business partners!
Jena went to St. Francis University, where she earned her master's degree in Physician Assistant Sciences. After working for fifteen years in ortho/occupational medicine, she decided to step away from healthcare, but still maintains her certification. She's always had a creative side and is excited to tap into that professionally! She's also looking forward to having her family be a part of the business. Jena and her husband, Matt, have two amazing kids and they love calling Happy Valley home! Lyndsay received her undergraduate degree from Lock Haven University and then her Masters of Public Health degree from East Stroudsburg University. She worked in the field of public health for the past fifteen years as an evaluation consultant. She has always wanted to own her own business and can't wait to start this new adventure! Lyndsay and her husband, Rich, have two beautiful daughters and live outside of State College.
Jena and Lyndsay are excited to bring the experience of Board & Brush to State College and the surrounding areas. They can't wait to meet everyone in the studio and become part of the small business community!

Board & Brush State College is located in the Ferguson Square along W. College Ave., easily accessed from any part of town and has plenty of parking. Public transportation is also an option with a CATA bus stop nearby.
