Are you looking for a night out with friends? Is your inner DIY itching for a fun new project without having to buy all your own supplies and make a mess at your house? Then BOOK A WORKSHOP for the ultimate paint and sip experience at Board & Brush Creative Studio in Sylvania.
Sylvania, OH is a suburb of Toledo and is approximately 30 minutes from Ann Arbor, MI. Toledo is known as The Glass City and has wonderful Midwestern charm. It has a large metropolitan area with a small-town vibe & genuinely friendly people. Toledo is famous for Tony Packo’s, Maumee Bay Brewing Company, and annual cultural festivals, making it a big melting pot! The Toledo Museum of Art is one of the most beloved cultural institutions and has been around since the turn of the century. Toledo is also home to the Toledo Mud Hens & the Walleye for some winter and summer fun, plus the Toledo Zoo, which was named the “Best U.S. Zoo” by USA Today. The most unique part of the area is the metro parks system, featuring twelve parks right within the city.

SIP & PAINT AT OUR WOOD SIGN WORKSHOPS
At Board & Brush in Sylvania, we marry the joy of wine and paint with the classic timelessness of wooden signs. Our instructor-led DIY wood sign workshops allow you to combine your creativity and willingness to learn new skills. We provide you with the instruction, materials and design for you to distress, sand, stain, paint, and customize your personalized piece of art!
HOW IT WORKS
1. REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP
View our calendar above to find a date and time that works best for you and your friends and family (the more, the merrier!). You can also look for a workshop that features the type of project you’d like to create, like a PYP or specialty project. Then, you’ll browse our gallery of hundreds of designs to choose which one you’d like to create in your upcoming workshop!
2. ARRIVE EARLY!
Our workshops start on time, so you’ll want to arrive early to get settled! You can start thinking about the endless creative possibilities ahead, take photos with friends, and enjoy your favorite beverage (some studios are BYOB, while others sell alcohol, please check with your local studio about their policies).
3. GET YOUR DIY ON!
At your paint and sip workshop, you’ll turn raw wood into a finished project fit for your home! You’ll be guided by our expert instructors throughout each step in the workshop - sanding, distressing, staining, painting your stencil, and waxing! You choose all your colors in person at the workshop! Our workshops are typically about 3 hours long.
4. DISPLAY YOUR NEW DÉCOR
When you leave our workshops, you’ll leave with a wood project that you’ll be proud to display in your home! We mean it when we say that no experience is necessary - our instructors are there to help turn you into a DIY expert. Now that your beautiful farmhouse-inspired project is complete, you’ll take it home to find the perfect spot to display it!

Meet Board & Brush Sylvania Owners
Yvette Valentine & Yvonne Neary
Yvette Valentine and Yvonne Neary are lively twin sisters and registered nurses with a shared passion for creativity. They have lived in the Sylvania area all of their adult lives! After attending a workshop, they fell in love with Board & Brush. Both Yvette and Yvonne thrive on creating relationships and helping others unlock their creative potential in a fun, social environment. They believe that art is not just a hobby, but a wonderful way to connect with oneself and others.
Yvonne, happily married for 35 years to her husband Bob, is a proud mother of two adult children, Rob and Kristi. She is also a grandmother to Whitney and has another grandchild on the way. She shares her home with her beloved dog, Maizy Mae, and playful cats, Dirt and Baby.
Yvette, happily married for 19 years to her husband Dan, is a proud mother of four adult children, Kaylee, Madison, Dakota and Abby. She is also a devoted pet parent to her dog, Nemo and cat, Steve.
Together, Yvette and Yvonne are dedicated to creating a welcoming space where everyone can explore their artistic abilities and enjoy the process of making beautiful memories.
