Somerville is a very walkable, quaint little town filled with delicious restaurants like Turf, Surf & Earth and Alfredo's. In town you'll also find Yestercades a retro arcade, comedy nights and a brewpub. Festivals and special events are scheduled almost every weekend. Parades, Girls night Out, Friday Cruise Night, Saturday concert Summer Stage and Thursday nights Starlit Cinema are ongoing events. Board & Brush Somerville is easily accessible from Rt. 22, Rt 78, Rt 287 and Rt.202/206 and NJ Transit.

SIP & PAINT AT OUR WOOD SIGN WORKSHOPS
At Board & Brush in Somerville, we marry the joy of wine and paint with the classic timelessness of wooden signs. Our instructor-led DIY wood sign workshops allow you to combine your creativity and willingness to learn new skills. We provide you with the instruction, materials and design for you to distress, sand, stain, paint, and customize your personalized piece of art!
HOW IT WORKS
1. REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP
View our calendar above to find a date and time that works best for you and your friends and family (the more, the merrier!). You can also look for a workshop that features the type of project you’d like to create, like a PYP or specialty project. Then, you’ll browse our gallery of hundreds of designs to choose which one you’d like to create in your upcoming workshop!
2. ARRIVE EARLY!
Our workshops start on time, so you’ll want to arrive early to get settled! You can start thinking about the endless creative possibilities ahead, take photos with friends, and enjoy your favorite beverage (some studios are BYOB, while others sell alcohol, please check with your local studio about their policies).
3. GET YOUR DIY ON!
At your paint and sip workshop, you’ll turn raw wood into a finished project fit for your home! You’ll be guided by our expert instructors throughout each step in the workshop - sanding, distressing, staining, painting your stencil, and waxing! You choose all your colors in person at the workshop! Our workshops are typically about 3 hours long.
4. DISPLAY YOUR NEW DÉCOR
When you leave our workshops, you’ll leave with a wood project that you’ll be proud to display in your home! We mean it when we say that no experience is necessary - our instructors are there to help turn you into a DIY expert. Now that your beautiful farmhouse-inspired project is complete, you’ll take it home to find the perfect spot to display it!

Meet Board & Brush Somerville Owner
Paula Lucas
Paula has been involved in restoring houses and furniture for over two decades. She has been a decorative painter and barn wood table finisher for twelve years. Her passion for decorating, restoration and painting has always fed her artistic appetite. After seeing a friends Board & Brush Instagram post, she booked a class and immediately knew she wanted to be a part of the Board & Brush franchise. She was born and raised in New Jersey but spent her summers growing up on her Grandparents farm in North Carolina. She has always been grateful that she was exposed to the country and farm lifestyle. She attributes that exposure to her family values and work ethic. Her greatest pride and love above all, is that of her three children. Gabriella her only daughter and best girlfriend, is a Bucknell University graduate and is a financial advisor living in NYC. Ben her oldest son and is a senior at the University of Oregon. Ben followed his childhood dream and is now a Duck football player (#57 Go Ducks!) Her youngest son Frankie is a senior in High School and is in the process of planning his next chapter, the world is at his feet! Paula and her children love to travel, spend time the beach, hike, love trying new restaurants and laugh a lot together! Two years ago, they rescued Tally, an 80-pound sweet Pitbull, she insists she's a lap dog and Tally gets her way! She was the perfect silly addition to their happy little family.

Board & Brush Somerville is located on the pedestrian only Division Street about 150 yards from the Somerville Train Station. This area is filled with public cafe tables and has a funky artsy vibe, great place for a stroll and relaxing.
